1. Metrological Tolerance & Repeatability Scope
All dimensional tolerance benchmarks (±0.05 mm to ±0.20 mm), process capability indices ($Cp$, $Cpk$), and repeatability figures published across this site are empirical reference values obtained under controlled laboratory conditions using specific filament batches, ambient environments, and calibrated metrology tools.
Additive manufacturing results vary significantly based on uncontrollable field parameters including, but not limited to:
- Batch-to-batch polymer hygroscopy and raw resin variations.
- Ambient workshop temperature fluctuations and micro-draft velocity.
- Extruder thermal decay, stepper backlash, and linear guide wear.
- Slicer kernel algorithms, toolpath acceleration dynamics, and cooling fan duty cycles.
2. Absence of Production Warranties
The BatchOutcome Fieldbook editorial team, contributors, and maintainers provide all guidance, checklists, and software calculators on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied.
We do not warrant that applying the workflows detailed in our Metrology Guide or Quality Control Methods will guarantee zero-defect yield, assembly interchangeability, or full regulatory compliance for your specific commercial production runs.
3. Critical Applications & Life-Safety Exclusion
Strict Notice: None of the methods, parameter recommendations, or evaluation tools on this website are certified for life-critical, medical device, aerospace flight hardware, structural automotive load-bearing, or pressure-containment components.
Small-batch additive components intended for mission-critical or safety-critical deployment must undergo destructive load testing, certified CMM inspection, and formal validation by an accredited third-party engineering laboratory.

5. Evaluation Tools & Calculation Accuracy
Our client-side Evaluation Tools compute process capability, normal distribution approximations, and sample batch variance based on standard mathematical algorithms. While designed to assist in rapid floor-level sanity checks, these utilities do not replace full statistical software packages (e.g., Minitab, JMP) or formal ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality management auditing.
6. Operator Responsibility & Verification
The manufacturing technician, quality engineer, or organization executing the print operations bears sole and exclusive responsibility for verifying physical tool calibration, conducting gauge repeatability & reproducibility (GR&R) assessments, and validating final part safety before product distribution.
